Three West Bank Residents Arrested on Golan Heights After Evading Police

Israeli police and border guards apprehended three residents of Hebron on the Golan Heights on September 1st, after they were found to be illegally present in Israel. The arrests occurred in the moshav of Ramot, where officers on patrol noticed two individuals in a kibbutz-owned electric vehicle. These individuals, aged 19 and 35, were identified as Hebron residents without legal status in Israel and were detained.

A third suspect, a 29-year-old Hebron resident, attempted to flee from officers and climbed into a sewage collector. Police urged him to exit, but he did not respond. Fearing for his life, rescue services and paramedics were called to the scene. After a prolonged period and repeated requests, the man emerged from the sewer, exhausted and injured, and was subsequently arrested.

All three individuals were taken to a police station. Their detention was extended multiple times, and on September 7th, they were formally charged with illegal presence in Israel and obstructing a police officer. The tourist accommodation complex where they were found was shut down for 30 days for employing illegal workers.
