Three Illegal Immigrants from Hebron Arrested in Golan Heights After Standoff

Israeli police and Border Police forces apprehended three Palestinian men from Hebron who were illegally present in Israel. The arrests took place at a guest house complex in the community of Ramot in the Golan Heights. During the operation, two suspects, aged 19 and 35, were found traveling in a utility vehicle and were detained after it was discovered they lacked legal status in Israel.

A third suspect, a 29-year-old from Hebron, attempted to evade capture by fleeing into a sewage pipe. Police opened the pipe and called for him to surrender, but he did not respond. Concerns for his life led to the deployment of fire and rescue services and Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics. After repeated calls, the exhausted and injured suspect emerged and was arrested.

The detention of the three men was extended, and on September 7, indictments were filed against them. They face charges of entering or residing in Israel illegally and obstructing a police officer in the line of duty. Following the incident, the commander of the Northern District, Superintendent Meir Eliyahu, ordered the guest house complex to be closed for 30 days.
