Ofer Winter Rejects Netanyahu's Offer to Join Likud

Ofer Winter, chairman of the 'Am Israel' party, has refused to discuss joining Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party at this time, despite a generous offer of reserved spots on the Likud list. Sources close to Netanyahu reportedly approached Winter's associates proposing a meeting between the two leaders to explore a potential merger and integrate Winter's people into the Likud slate. However, Winter declined the meeting, stating, "There is nothing to discuss."

The significant offer from Likud includes all five remaining reserved spots on the party's list, with four of them positioned before the 30th slot. In exchange, Winter would be expected to abandon his plan for an independent run in the upcoming elections. According to reports, the official offer has not yet been formally presented due to Winter's refusal to engage in talks.

Earlier, Winter clarified that he is not ruling out political alliances but has set a condition regarding potential partners. He stated, "The connections will only be made with new and clean people. We will welcome anyone who wants to come and fix things and put the good of the people of Israel first."

Winter further elaborated that his party is open to individuals "who were not tainted by October 7th and who come to change the divisive and violent discourse that led us to the terrible massacre."
