Political Commentator Slams Netanyahu's Wife Over Conspiracy Claims

Political commentator Amit Segal sharply criticized Sara Netanyahu, wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for her remarks suggesting a conspiracy involving opposition leader Yair Golan. In a Channel 14 interview, Netanyahu implied Golan claimed to have been in the Gaza border region on October 7th and possessed prior knowledge of the Hamas attack, allegedly before the Prime Minister. Segal described the statement as "disgusting and nauseating" and "so foolish," particularly given the ongoing election period. He noted that Netanyahu "hinted at a conspiracy," despite the Likud party's denial of such claims. Segal quoted Netanyahu as saying Golan was "dressed and ready at a very early hour," calling the remark both sickening and incredibly stupid. He contrasted this with other potential criticisms, such as external attacks, pre-war insubordination, or harsh statements.

Meanwhile, the Likud party officially denied that Sara Netanyahu ever alleged a conspiracy. Separately, Yair Golan, leader of the Democratic Party, sent Sara Netanyahu a legal notice threatening a defamation lawsuit. His lawyers demanded a public apology and a financial settlement within 24 hours, with the funds to be donated to survivors of the Nova music festival. Failure to comply would result in legal action seeking at least 2.5 million shekels in damages.
