Likud Denies Sara Netanyahu Promoted Conspiracy Theories

The Likud party issued a statement Tuesday denying accusations that Sara Netanyahu promoted conspiracy theories regarding the October 7th Hamas attacks. The denial came a day after an interview on Channel 14 that sparked significant controversy. The party also sharply criticized Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan, who had threatened legal action against the Prime Minister's wife over remarks she made about him.

Likud described Golan's actions as a "chauvinistic, violent, and aggressive display," asserting that his accusations were an attempt to divert attention from the "real and important issues" Netanyahu raised in her interview. The party further accused Golan of leading a "brutal and unprecedented siege" against a prime minister's wife.

Contrary to what Likud termed "left-wing media's consciousness engineering," the party stated that Sara Netanyahu "never claimed a conspiracy" regarding October 7th, but rather said the opposite. Likud characterized Golan as a "radical left-wing figure" who has allegedly compared Israel to Nazis, claimed IDF soldiers kill babies as a hobby, led draft-dodging efforts, and sought to form a left-wing government with Arab parties.
