Two pharmacists working at the Glilot military camp are suspected of stealing tens of thousands of medications intended for IDF soldiers and selling them on the black market, the military announced Monday. The investigation, which began covertly, focused on two senior pharmacists, one of whom was the responsible pharmacist at the base. They were employed as external suppliers by the Ministry of Defense.

The investigation was conducted by the Ministry of Defense's security supervisor and the IDF's Central Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Ministry of Health's enforcement division. Evidence suggests the pharmacists systematically defrauded the military, taking prescription drugs and other medications, selling them privately, and allegedly pocketing tens of thousands of shekels.

Following the transition to an open investigation, the two pharmacists were arrested at the Glilot camp and are being questioned on suspicion of theft by an authorized person, receiving goods under aggravated circumstances, reckless endangerment, and violations of pharmaceutical regulations. Their detention is expected to be extended by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.

Additionally, other suspects have been detained for questioning by investigative units. The military police are investigating further individuals for alleged theft by an authorized person and aiding in fraudulent receipt of goods under aggravated circumstances, with the military prosecution overseeing these cases.
