Democrats Chair Yair Golan Blames Netanyahu for MK Tzvi Sukkot’s Actions in Palestinian Village

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, addressed Israel's Arab public in Arabic ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections, holding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the actions of MK Tzvi Sukkot in the Palestinian village of Madama near Nablus. Golan accused Netanyahu of fostering an environment that enables extremist behavior, saying, "Tzvi Sukkot does not act in a vacuum. This is Netanyahu’s spirit, ignoring security warnings, backing extremists and Jewish terrorism."

Golan criticized the government for prioritizing coalition stability over Israel’s security, stating, "There is no government without Tzvi Sukkot, so time after time, Israel’s security and IDF soldiers are sidelined to preserve the coalition." He labeled the current government as "a Hamas asset," accusing it of allowing extremists to dictate security policy and risking further escalation and harm to soldiers. Golan described Sukkot as a "dangerous criminal harming Israel’s security" and vowed that after the elections, the Democratic Party would restore security to Israel.

Likewise, MK Gilad Kariv of the Democratic Party, also speaking in Arabic, emphasized that Netanyahu’s government survival depends on Sukkot, even at the cost of exposing IDF soldiers to danger. Kariv stressed, "Our children and grandchildren are not enlisting to be shields for his reckless adventures." This message comes amid heightened tensions and political debates over extremist actions in the West Bank and their impact on Israeli security and politics.
