Religious Zionist MK Tzvi Sukkot Threatens Defamation Suit Against Yair Golan

On Tuesday, Religious Zionist MK Tzvi Sukkot posted footage showing himself destroying a monument commemorating terrorists in the Palestinian village of Madama. Following this, Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, criticized Sukkot and repeated a claim that IDF forces were diverted from Gaza to the West Bank before the October 7 massacre to protect a sukkah Sukkot had set up near Hawara. This allegation was previously made by retired General Dan Harel but was proven false in court.

Golan wrote, "Tzvi Sukkot, the man responsible for IDF forces moving to the territories on the eve of 7.10 instead of remaining in the south, who broke into IDF bases, is now trying to ignite more conflict. He belongs behind bars, not in the Israeli Knesset."

In response, Sukkot threatened legal action, stating, "You have exactly half an hour to delete this lie. Not a single soldier moved from the south to the West Bank because of me. If you don't delete it, you will be sued and will have to pay, just like your good friend Dan Harel."

Additionally, Michael Shemesh condemned Sukkot's actions as a "childish provocation" and called for someone to intervene.
