MK Tzvi Sukkot Demands Harsh State Response to Village After Deadly Terror Attack

MK Tzvi Sukkot of the Religious Zionism party spoke at the scene of the deadly terror attack in which Benyahu Malat was killed. Sukkot, who knew Malat for nearly 20 years, described him as a dear friend and a highly involved community figure who fostered cooperation across the region. He called for a strong and painful response from the Israeli government against the nearby village linked to the attack, stating it should be treated like the Gaza border areas of Rafah and Khan Yunis.

Sukkot emphasized that his call for revenge is directed at state institutions, not private individuals, and urged a "sharp, massive, and painful" crackdown to combat what he described as a rising wave of terror. He insisted that the village and the city of Nablus (Shechem) require root-level interventions similar to those implemented in Gaza. Sukkot expressed deep personal anger over the murder but stressed that the response must come through official channels.

The MK’s remarks highlight the ongoing tensions and demands for escalated security measures following attacks on Israelis, reflecting broader calls within parts of the Israeli political spectrum for tougher actions against Palestinian communities suspected of harboring militants.
