MK Tzvi Sukkot Demands Arrest of Palestinian Police After Reservist Assault in West Bank

MK Tzvi Sukkot visited the site on the bypass road near Beitunia where an Israeli reservist soldier was violently attacked by Palestinian Authority police forces. The incident occurred in Area C of the West Bank, a zone where Israeli civilian movement is permitted and Palestinian police have no authority. During the confrontation, the Palestinian officers forcibly detained the soldier en route to the Gush Dolav-Talmonim bloc and confiscated his personal military weapon, though no injuries were reported.

At the scene, Sukkot called on the IDF and Israeli enforcement agencies to immediately locate and arrest the Palestinian officers involved. He also demanded the establishment of a secure and continuous travel route connecting the Gush Dolav-Talmonim settlements to Highway 443. Sukkot condemned the attack as a severe breach, emphasizing that while illegal Palestinian construction in Area C remains unaddressed, the violent behavior of Palestinian police setting up checkpoints and abducting an Israeli in this area is intolerable.

He criticized the Civil Administration's spokesperson for their response, which he described as absurdly framing the incident as a "rescue" of the Israeli soldier. Sukkot urged the IDF to punish the Palestinian officers for their violence against the reservist and to ensure permanent protection for Israelis legally traveling through the area, preventing any further harm by Palestinian Authority operatives.
