Attorney David Peter Warns of Dark International Future Over MK Zvi Sukkot's Actions in West Bank

Attorney David Peter issued a serious warning on Tuesday regarding the conduct of Knesset member Zvi Sukkot, cautioning that such events could have negative repercussions for Israel on the international stage. Peter criticized some public officials for failing to recognize that they are part of the government, not a protest movement, and thus bear responsibility and maturity. He emphasized that these officials underestimate how such incidents are perceived abroad, predicting a bleak international outlook for Israel.

Peter also expressed concern about troubling developments in Europe and the United States, suggesting that the global political climate is not promising. He concluded his remarks by warning that Israel will soon lose the privilege of making such mistakes. His comments came in response to Sukkot's recent visit to the West Bank village of Madama, where the MK participated in a "memorial tour" approved and secured by the IDF.

During the visit, Sukkot was filmed destroying a monument dedicated to Yaman Faraj, a commander of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’s military wing who was killed by the IDF. The Israeli military stated that the monument's demolition was not part of the approved plan and accused Sukkot of exceeding the coordination agreement. However, Sukkot maintained that he acted in full coordination with the army.
