Malik Wilks Set to Join Turkish Club Mardin Instead of Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv has been active in the transfer market seeking reinforcements, but one of their potential signings, winger Malik Wilks, appears unlikely to join the Israeli club. According to reports from Turkey, the 27-year-old English winger is close to signing with Mardin, a team in the Turkish top division. Turkish media claim Wilks has already reached an agreement with Mardin, and images circulating online show what is purported to be a welcome video for his announcement as a new player for the club.

Wilks played last season for Pendikspor in Turkey, where he scored ten goals and provided six assists across all competitions. Known for his dominant left foot, his primary position is right winger, but he is versatile enough to play as a left winger or center forward. During the summer, he terminated his contract with Pendikspor and is now moving to a new club.

Previously, Wilks was affiliated with Leeds United and has played for several English clubs including Hull City, Doncaster Rovers, and Sheffield Wednesday. His move to Mardin marks a new chapter in his career, ending the speculation about a transfer to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
