Malik Wilks Set to Join Turkish Club Mardin Instead of Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv, currently active in the transfer window seeking reinforcements, appears to have lost a potential signing. According to reports from Turkey, winger Malik Wilks is expected to sign with Mardin, a club in the Turkish top division, rather than joining the Israeli team. Turkish media claim Wilks has already reached an agreement with Mardin, and a welcome video featuring him has reportedly leaked online.

Wilks, a 27-year-old English player, spent the previous season with Pendikspor in Turkey. Known for his dominant left foot, he primarily plays as a right winger but is versatile enough to operate as a left winger or center forward. During the last season, Wilks scored ten goals and provided six assists across all competitions. He recently terminated his contract with Pendikspor and is now moving to a new club.

Earlier in his career, Wilks was affiliated with Leeds United and played for several English clubs including Hull City, Doncaster Rovers, and Sheffield Wednesday. His expected move to Mardin marks a shift away from the Israeli Premier League, where Maccabi Tel Aviv had been interested in acquiring him.
