American-Israeli Player Ajayi Jones Not on Golden State Warriors Final Roster

Ajayi Jones, the American-Israeli basketball player, is not expected to be included in the Golden State Warriors' final roster for the upcoming NBA season. Although Jones, who was selected 54th overall in the recent NBA draft, will not be among the 15 official players on the team, he is likely to play in the NBA under a two-way contract. This arrangement allows him to compete primarily with the Warriors' development team while being called up to the NBA squad as needed.

During the recent NBA Summer League, Jones averaged 7.0 points per game, shooting 41% from the field and 25% from three-point range, along with 3.4 rebounds per game. His path to the NBA has been somewhat unconventional. He began at Tarleton State Texans as a bench player, then moved to a community college before transferring to St. Bonaventure, where he excelled with 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. The college was notably coached by former NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski. The previous season, Jones played at Florida State, a larger program, where he demonstrated impressive athleticism but struggled with three-point shooting, hitting 32.5% from beyond the arc, while averaging 12.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and one block per game.

Jones' journey reflects a steady progression through various levels of college basketball, culminating in his current opportunity to develop within the Warriors organization and potentially contribute to their NBA roster during the season.
