Beitar Jerusalem Advances Talks to Sign Colombian Midfielder Alexis Serna

Beitar Jerusalem has intensified preparations for their upcoming Premier League match against Maccabi Netanya, scheduled for this Saturday, marking Netanya's first game of the 2026/27 season. The team has conducted double training sessions over the past two days to boost readiness. Left-back Yarden Cohen, who was injured during the warm-up before the Europa Conference League second leg against Austria Vienna, has not yet returned to training and is expected to miss the Saturday match. The club aims to have him ready for the following Thursday's game against Hapoel Tel Aviv. In Cohen's absence, defender Nevo Shado, who joined this summer from Bnei Reineh as backup, is on standby to start. Shado has already played in the last two matches against Austria Vienna and Hapoel Ramat Gan and has the coaching staff's support for league matches.

Meanwhile, Beitar Jerusalem remains optimistic about signing Colombian midfielder Alexis Serna from Independiente Medellín. Negotiations between the club and Serna are reportedly progressing well, with Brian Carballi assisting in facilitating the transfer. The club is hopeful that Serna will join soon to strengthen their midfield ahead of the league campaign.
