Construction Permits Issued for First Phase of Large Haredi Housing Project in Kiryat Gat

The local planning and building committee in Kiryat Gat has approved construction permits for the first two plots of the "Mishkanot Shir" project, developed by Reisdor and Shabiro. This milestone marks the transition from planning to execution, with heavy machinery expected to begin work on site shortly. Concurrently, the developers are advancing licensing procedures for additional plots within the project, which will ultimately include around 2,500 housing units tailored to the needs of the Haredi community.

"Mishkanot Shir" is a key component of the new "Maarava" district, a major development area in Kiryat Gat designed primarily for the Haredi population. The district plans approximately 7,500 housing units and extensive community infrastructure, including 80 synagogues, 10 ritual baths, numerous educational facilities, community centers, parks, and commercial spaces. Its strategic location near major highways and the train station enhances accessibility and proximity to employment hubs.

The collaboration between Reisdor, experienced in Haredi housing projects, and Shabiro, a veteran construction company, underpins this large-scale development. The issuance of the initial permits signals a significant step forward in realizing the ambitious plans for "Maarava," with construction underway on the first plots and ongoing permit processes for others.
