Suspicious Package with Liquids Prompts Evacuation at Modiin Illit Post Office
Firefighters from the Benjamin Regional Station responded on Tuesday to an unusual incident at a post office branch in Modiin Illit after a package suspected of containing hazardous materials was received. The package reportedly contained two different liquid substances, raising concerns among post office staff. Fire and rescue teams quickly isolated the scene and evacuated civilians from the area to ensure safety.
Hazardous materials monitoring teams were dispatched to assist in handling the suspicious package. According to Sub-Lieutenant Shlomi Harosh, commander of the Benjamin Regional Station, the incident was triggered by a leak from one of the substances inside the package. Firefighters are taking maximum precautions to safely approach and neutralize the materials to prevent further leakage or a chemical reaction.
Initial reports indicated that one of the envelopes contained gel nail polish, which is currently being examined to determine its authenticity. Authorities continue to secure the site and manage the situation to protect the public and resolve the threat posed by the package.
