Haggai Lover Urges Ofer Winter to Unite Political Blocs and Avoid Narrow Right-Wing Government

Ahead of the launch event for retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter's new political party, bereaved father Haggai Lover issued a direct and pointed appeal to Winter. Lover called on Winter to bring a fundamentally different political message than the usual right-wing rhetoric. He expressed hope that Winter would announce a plan to unite the two main political blocs into a broad coalition government and explicitly reject joining a narrow government.

Lover urged Winter to lead efforts to consolidate fragmented parties and figures supporting a wide government, including Benny Gantz, Gilad Erdan, and Hili Tropper, to create a significant political force capable of safely passing the electoral threshold. He criticized the possibility that Winter would offer a standard right-wing platform, saying such messages are redundant given that figures like Smotrich, Likud, and Ben Gvir already promote them relentlessly.

He dismissed the need for another party merely repackaging existing religious-secular combinations found in Likud. Lover emphasized that this is a unique moment requiring substantial change and proposed a plan to prevent a narrow government representing only "half the people at best," advocating instead for a broad consensus government.

Lover concluded by stating his public and political support depends on Winter making this announcement, promising to become a dedicated activist for the new party if Winter commits to this inclusive approach.
