Beitar Jerusalem Faces Injury Concerns Ahead of Maccabi Netanya Match
Beitar Jerusalem returned to training on Sunday after a weekend break, preparing intensively for their upcoming Saturday match against Maccabi Netanya. Coach Almog Cohen scheduled a demanding training plan including two sessions on Sunday and Monday to get the players match-ready. However, key players Jordan Shua and Jordan Cohen did not participate in training and remain doubtful for the game. Captain Jordan Shua is dealing with pain in his ankle and calf muscle, while defender Jordan Cohen is sidelined with a knee injury. Both have missed team training since last week.
On a more positive note, striker Shon Weissman has resumed partial training. Weissman, who joined the club this summer, missed the recent matches against Austria Vienna but is showing encouraging signs of recovery, raising hopes he will be fit to play against Netanya. Shua has already missed two games this season, including a Conference League qualifier against AEK Larnaca and a Toto Cup ranking match against Hapoel Ramat Gan. His last appearance was in the European match against Austria Vienna where Beitar was eliminated. Jordan Cohen also missed the Ramat Gan match and the second leg against Austria Vienna, with his last game being the first leg against the Austrian team. Weissman played 56 minutes in that first match against Austria Vienna.
The team is closely monitoring the injured players’ conditions as they prepare for the crucial league encounter, with the fitness of Shua and Cohen remaining uncertain.
