Bolivian Defender Diego Aroyo Officially Joins Hapoel Petah Tikva
After a lengthy negotiation, Bolivian center-back Diego Aroyo has officially signed with Hapoel Petah Tikva. The 21-year-old defender, who stands 1.90 meters tall, arrives from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk to strengthen the Israeli Premier League team. Aroyo was acquired by Shakhtar in February 2025 for nearly one million euros from Bolivar in Bolivia, and is currently valued at approximately 500,000 euros according to Transfermarkt.
Despite limited playing time at Shakhtar, with only two official appearances, Aroyo has earned seven caps for the Bolivian national team. Upon signing, he expressed enthusiasm about starting a new chapter in his career and is eager to contribute to his new club's success on the field.
The signing marks a significant addition for Hapoel Petah Tikva as they prepare for the upcoming season in the Israeli Premier League.
