Bolivian Defender Diego Aroyo Officially Joins Hapoel Petah Tikva
After a lengthy negotiation, Bolivian center-back Diego Aroyo has officially signed with Hapoel Petah Tikva. The 21-year-old defender, who stands 1.90 meters tall, arrives from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk to strengthen the Israeli Premier League side. Aroyo joined Shakhtar in February 2025 for nearly one million euros from Bolivar in Bolivia but made only two official appearances for the Ukrainian club. He has also earned seven caps for the Bolivian national team. Valued at approximately 500,000 euros by Transfermarkt, Aroyo expressed enthusiasm about his new chapter, stating, "I am happy to finally start a new chapter in my career. I look forward to stepping onto the pitch and will do my best for the team's success." The signing was confirmed on August 23, 2026.
