Shas Condemns Judge Solberg for Ordering Removal of Campaign Video Featuring Soldier

The Shas party criticized Central Elections Committee Chairman Judge Noam Solberg for ordering the removal of a campaign video that showed a soldier in uniform. Shas accused Solberg of quickly yielding to the left-wing party led by Gadi Eizenkot, which had challenged the video. The party stated that the video contained no Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) symbols or elements, and condemned what it called ongoing left-wing propaganda against Shas regarding military conscription. Shas further accused the legal system of persecuting right-wing, traditionalist, and religious groups. Judge Solberg's decision followed a complaint from the "Yesh" party, which argued that the video violated rules prohibiting the use of IDF imagery in election propaganda and the use of party list letters before the 42-day pre-election period.
