Ironi Tiberias Denies All Charges in 'Infusion Case,' Demands Complaint Dismissal

Ahead of the disciplinary hearing scheduled for September 10, Ironi Tiberias submitted its defense against allegations in the so-called "infusion case." Represented by a legal team including Zvi and Eyal Yafe, Zion Amir, and Nir Lor, the club completely denies the accusations and demands the complaint be dismissed outright. The defense argues the indictment lacks sufficient factual basis and is primarily founded on assumptions and conjectures.

Ironi Tiberias also challenges the procedural validity of the complaint filed by M.S. Ashdod, claiming it was submitted in violation of regulations, with a delay of a month and a half after the match and without justification. The club accuses Ashdod of improper third-party interference motivated by interests unrelated to sports integrity.

The club further criticizes the investigative company's conduct, alleging biased, inappropriate methods involving threats and disrespectful language toward those questioned. They hint at involvement by senior officials within the Israeli Football Association, which they say compromised the investigation's independence.

On the substantive charges, Ironi Tiberias contends the association accused them of "assisting in the use of prohibited substances," but according to WADA regulations, fluid infusions are not classified as prohibited substances but at most as a prohibited method. Therefore, the indictment is based on an incorrect offense and should be dismissed. Regarding the volume of fluids, which is only forbidden if exceeding 100 ml within 12 hours, the club denies their players surpassed this limit and attacks the medical evidence presented, stating the case relies on unfounded assumptions rather than proven medical facts.

Lastly, the club condemns attempts to involve Miki Beitan, who they say holds no official position with the club, calling it a deliberate effort to damage the club's reputation through leaks. The disciplinary tribunal will now decide whether to accept the club's preliminary arguments and dismiss the case.
