Israeli Influencer Maayan Ashkenazi Attacked by Municipality Worker with Water Hose in Herzliya
Israeli social media influencer Maayan Ashkenazi shared a distressing incident that occurred while she was driving in Herzliya. At a red light, a municipal street cleaning worker sprayed water forcefully at her car, deliberately aiming the hose at her face for several seconds. Ashkenazi initially thought the worker might be cleaning her windshield or joking, but the aggressive behavior soon became clear. After the attack, the worker looked at her in a threatening manner and walked away.
Ashkenazi, who was alone in the car, expressed fear and uncertainty about the motive, wondering if it was related to hostility against her as a Jewish woman, though she could not confirm this. She reported the incident to the Herzliya municipality and spoke with the worker's supervisor, who claimed the worker was simply cleaning her car. Ashkenazi did not film the event due to shock and is still shaken by the experience. The Herzliya municipality has not yet responded to requests for comment.
This episode highlights concerns about harassment and safety even in everyday public spaces, as Ashkenazi called on authorities to take action. She described the event as the most frightening experience of her life.
