Tensions between Israel and Turkey over developments in Syria continue, but Israeli officials emphasize a desire to prevent a direct confrontation between the two countries. A senior security source told Kan News that Israel does not want to turn Turkey into an enemy and that behind-the-scenes communication channels remain open to convey messages and reduce the risk of clashes. This statement came amid recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria and the resulting strain with Ankara.

The source explained that despite efforts to resolve disputes through quiet dialogue, Israel will not compromise on its security interests in Syria. "When messages are ineffective, Israel is forced to act," the official said. The main point of contention is Turkey's growing military presence in Syria, which Israel views as crossing several red lines, especially regarding the deployment of weaponry that could limit the Israeli Air Force's operational freedom.

Israel's primary concern is the introduction of air defense systems, drones, and missiles in areas where their presence could threaten Israeli aircraft or restrict Israel's aerial freedom of action in Syria. Thus, Israel is pursuing a dual approach: maintaining open communication channels with Ankara to avoid turning Turkey into an adversary, while clearly warning that any Turkish military buildup beyond Israel's defined red lines will be met with on-the-ground Israeli measures to prevent it.
