Airport Authority Workers' Chair Blames Staff Shortages for Check-In and Flight Delays at Ben Gurion
Pinchas Idan, chairman of the Airport Authority workers' committee, urged Transportation Minister Miri Regev to appoint an investigator to determine who ordered the closure of check-in counters and the cancellation of landings at Ben Gurion Airport. Idan criticized the management for misleading the public for weeks by attributing delays to American refueling planes and air traffic congestion. He stated plainly, "The truth is one - there are no workers." Furthermore, he highlighted that the management failed to prepare adequately for the summer peak season, during which over 100,000 passengers pass through the airport, resulting in significant operational disruptions.
