Hallel Miriam Peretz, daughter of the late Captain Eliraz Peretz who was killed in combat in the Gaza Strip in 2010, recently got married. The wedding was marked by a mixture of joy and sorrow as Hallel was accompanied to the chuppah by her mother, Shlomit, and grandmother, Miriam Peretz, a recipient of the Israel Prize. Miriam Peretz shared an emotional post reflecting on the complex feelings surrounding this happy day shadowed by loss. She expressed how her heart both aches with pain and swells with happiness, noting that Hallel’s father should have been the one to escort her but now watches from heaven.
