Avi Nesher, often dubbed the Israeli Steven Spielberg, has directed a new film titled "Our Loves," which depicts the horrors of the October 7 Hamas massacre. The film, currently competing for Ophir Awards and aiming to represent Israel at the Oscars, premiered at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival and will soon have a wide commercial release in Israel. Nesher employs familiar Hollywood disaster film conventions to portray a diverse ensemble of Israeli characters facing personal challenges that escalate amid the massacre.
