Woman Dies at Soroka Hospital a Day After Stillbirth During Emergency Surgery
A woman in her forties died at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, one day after undergoing emergency surgery during her seventh pregnancy, in which a stillborn fetus was delivered. The hospital reported that the woman experienced massive bleeding that rapidly worsened her condition. She arrived at the hospital at 34 weeks gestation complaining of abdominal pain. Due to a rare complication, her condition deteriorated, leading to urgent surgery. During the operation, the fetus was delivered without signs of life, and the woman was transferred in critical condition to the intensive care unit. Despite medical efforts, she passed away the following day. Soroka Medical Center expressed condolences to the family and confirmed the case has been reported to the Ministry of Health and is under investigation.
