MK Avi Maoz Visits West Bank Settlement to Promote Haredi Community Expansion
Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party and member of the Knesset, visited the Haredi settlement of Metapeh La'ah in the Binyamin region of the West Bank. During his visit, he met with the settlement's founder, Rabbi Ephraim Hershkovitz, and local residents to discuss the challenges faced by the community and plans for expanding Haredi settlement in Judea and Samaria. Hershkovitz shared the history and development of Metapeh La'ah, emphasizing the unity between the Haredi population and other groups in the area, as well as the settlement's strategic importance.
Maoz toured the synagogue, visited homes, and engaged with residents about daily life and the urgent need to develop infrastructure to support the growing Haredi community. Drawing on his previous experience as director general of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Housing, Maoz pledged to advocate for the settlement's development with relevant government ministries. He highlighted that expanding Haredi settlements in the West Bank could also help alleviate the housing crisis within the Haredi sector.
Concluding his visit, Maoz stated that the Land of Israel belongs to all its people and that settlement is both a right and responsibility for all communities. He called on local authorities in Judea and Samaria to open their doors and assist in the growth of Haredi settlements by any means possible. Maoz affirmed that his door remains open and that the Noam party will continue supporting the strengthening of Haredi presence in the Land of Israel.
