Noam Party Chair Visits Haredi Settlement in West Bank to Support Expansion Plans
Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam Party, visited the Haredi settlement of Mitzpeh Leah in the Benjamin region of the West Bank to learn about the community and its expansion plans. During the visit, Maoz met with Rabbi Ephraim Hershkovitz, the settlement's founder, who shared the history of Mitzpeh Leah and highlighted the unity between the Haredi population and other groups in the area. Hershkovitz also emphasized the strategic importance of the settlement and the ongoing efforts to expand Haredi settlement in Judea and Samaria.
Maoz toured the synagogue, visited residents' homes, and discussed daily life and infrastructure needs with locals. Drawing on his previous experience as director general of the Interior and Housing Ministries, he pledged to advocate for the settlement's development with government bodies. Maoz stressed that Haredi settlement in the West Bank not only preserves parts of the land but also offers a solution to the severe housing shortage in the Haredi sector.
Concluding his visit, Maoz stated that the land of Israel belongs to all its people and that settlement is both a right and responsibility for all communities. He called on local authorities in the West Bank to support Haredi settlement growth and promised that Noam would continue to assist in strengthening the Jewish presence in the region.
