Maccabi Haifa Moves to Sign Foreign Winger After Manuel Benson Injury

Following the injury of winger Manuel Benson during a Toto Cup match earlier this week, Maccabi Haifa has decided to strengthen its squad by signing a foreign player for the wing position. The club had initially considered signing Ghanaian player Kwasi Sibo as a replacement but ultimately opted to pursue a winger instead. Maccabi Haifa had relied heavily on Benson, and the current alternatives on the roster, such as Cedric Don, Iyad Khalili, and Yair Mordechai, are more accustomed to other positions.

The club had prepared a list of potential wingers even before Benson's recent recovery from a previous injury, anticipating the possibility of further setbacks. Now, Maccabi Haifa is accelerating negotiations to secure a new winger as soon as possible. Regarding Kwasi Sibo, the club will only attempt to sign him if Pedro leaves, though it seems unlikely that Sibo will wait for the club's decision.

Club officials acknowledged that their plans have changed multiple times this year due to injuries to key players like Benson and Feingezicht. Despite these challenges, they emphasized the need to adapt and move forward without excuses.
