Hadash, Ta'al, and Balad Set to Announce Election Alliance This Weekend
Hadash, Ta'al, and Balad are expected to announce a joint list for the upcoming elections this Saturday. The announcement follows a breakthrough in negotiations after talks nearly collapsed last week due to Ta'al leader and Knesset member Ahmad Tibi's refusal to accept the second and ninth spots on the list.
Yesterday, Hadash chairman Yousef Jabareen and former Ta'al Knesset member Osama Saadi met and reached near-final agreements. The breakthrough came after Ta'al was promised additional roles beyond their list positions, including the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, a representative on the Finance Committee, and the faction chairmanship.
Ta'al is scheduled to convene tomorrow to discuss the updated proposal from Hadash and Balad, followed by internal elections for the list on Friday. Barring any surprises, the three parties will officially announce their alliance on Saturday.
