Ben Hamo Family Celebrates Torah Scroll Dedication in Kiryat Ata After Yad L'Achim Raffle Win

For the 16th consecutive year, Yad L'Achim held its annual raffle to award a Torah scroll, culminating in a heartfelt dedication ceremony in Kiryat Ata. The Ben Hamo family, winners of this year's raffle, received a beautifully crafted Torah scroll written by a scribe who personally attended the event. The dedication took place at the Ram V'Nisa synagogue in the Givat Tal neighborhood, attracting many local residents and family members to join the joyous occasion.

The Torah scroll bears the Ben Hamo family name, commemorating the gift and honoring the memory of the family's late parents. The family expressed deep personal significance in receiving the scroll, highlighting the mother's lifelong devotion to honoring her parents, which they saw reflected in this special blessing. Seven elder brothers from the Ben Hamo family participated in writing the final letters of the Torah, each adding a letter to the scroll.

The celebration included a festive procession through Kiryat Ata's main street with singing and dancing, followed by a celebratory meal where Yad L'Achim representatives praised the family and the mitzvah of honoring parents that inspired the raffle win. Rabbis Yoav Robinson, Chaim Kahn, and Chaim Eisenberg from Yad L'Achim personally blessed the family, wishing that the Torah scroll would bring ongoing blessing and joy.

Yad L'Achim dedicates all proceeds from the raffle to the mitzvah of redeeming captives and actively supports the event's preparations and ceremony each year. This annual tradition continues to strengthen community bonds and religious devotion in northern Israel.
