IDF Confirms Discovery of Remains of Missing Soldier Yehuda Katz After 44 Years
The Israel Defense Forces announced on Tuesday that the remains of Yehuda Katz, the last missing soldier from the 1982 Battle of Sultan Yacoub, have been found. Katz had been classified as missing for over four decades. This update follows previous recoveries of soldiers from the same battle, including the return of Zvi Feldman’s body in 2025 through a secret Mossad operation, and the repatriation of Zacharia Baumel’s remains from Syria in 2019 with Russian assistance. Further details are expected to be released soon.
