New Binyan Eliyahu Yeshiva Opens in Modiin Illit Honoring Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi Doron

A new yeshiva for Torah study named "Binyan Eliyahu" has opened in the city of Modiin Illit, continuing the sacred work of the institutions named after Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi Doron, the former Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel. The yeshiva is led by Rabbi Daniel Cohen, a disciple of Rabbi Bakshi Doron. The inauguration and opening lesson took place at the home of Rabbi Bakshi Doron in the Beit Vagan neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The event was attended by prominent religious figures including Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, the Rishon LeZion and President of the Council of Torah Sages, who delivered opening remarks emphasizing the halachic connection between Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and Rabbi Bakshi Doron. Rabbi Daniel Cohen and Rabbi Moshe Bakshi Doron, son of the late Chief Rabbi, also gave blessings to the organizers and founders, expressing hopes that the yeshiva will contribute to the growth and exaltation of Torah study.

The opening of "Binyan Eliyahu" marks a significant addition to the Torah learning institutions in Modiin Illit, reinforcing the legacy of Rabbi Bakshi Doron and his dedication to Jewish scholarship. The yeshiva aims to continue fostering advanced Torah education in the community.
