Maccabi Tel Aviv's Henry Edoo Set to Join Portuguese Club on Loan

Maccabi Tel Aviv is preparing to free up a foreign player slot by loaning winger Henry Edoo to Tondela, a club competing in Portugal's second division. Edoo is scheduled to fly to Portugal tomorrow to complete the move, which includes an option for Tondela to purchase him permanently. Since returning from a loan spell at OFK Belgrade in Serbia, Edoo has been training separately from the Maccabi Tel Aviv squad after being informed he is not part of the club's future plans. The Ghanaian winger, who joined Maccabi from Žilina as a promising young talent, struggled to meet expectations. In his first full season (2024/25) with Maccabi, he made 28 appearances and scored three goals, including two in the Europa League qualifiers against Bačka Topola. This loan deal is expected to resolve Maccabi's foreign player dilemma and allow them to sign another foreign player in his place.
