Family Demands Shin Bet Take Over Investigation Into Missing Girl Heymanot Kasaw

Heymanot Kasaw has been missing for 902 days, and her family is demanding that the investigation into her disappearance be transferred from the Israeli police to the Shin Bet security service. This call comes after the recent discovery of Mally and Liel Yahalomi, whose case saw significant police progress, highlighting what the family perceives as a disparity in investigative efforts.

Heymanot's parents, Benchi and Tesfaye Kasaw, expressed relief over the Yahalomi mother and daughter's safe recovery but emphasized their ongoing pain. They stated that Heymanot, who was nine years old when she disappeared, did not choose to vanish and that everything possible has not been done to find her.

The family sharply criticized the police, particularly under the direction of Major General Danny Levi, for not applying the same resources and dedication to Heymanot's case as they did for the Yahalomi case. They noted that the police's Unit 433 investigated extensively to locate the Yahalomis, while Heymanot's family has not been adequately updated or involved.

Given the lack of progress and the absence of new leads, the Kasaw family reiterated their demand for the case to be handed over to the Shin Bet. They appealed to the public to continue supporting their efforts to find Heymanot and to help amplify their calls for action, lamenting that their voices have not been sufficiently heard.

Heymanot Kasaw disappeared at age nine, and her family continues to campaign for her return, now seeking increased pressure on authorities and a change in the investigative body handling the case.
