Anthropic Negotiates $6 Billion Acquisition of Israeli AI Startup Decart

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, is in early-stage talks to acquire Israeli AI startup Decart AI for approximately $6 billion, according to Bloomberg. Decart, supported by chip giant Nvidia, specializes in AI optimization technologies and infrastructure, developing autonomous models that improve chip efficiency and reduce AI training costs. This acquisition would be Anthropic's largest to date.

Decart's notable technologies include the Lucy model for real-time video editing and the Oasis model, which creates simulation environments for robotics and autonomous driving training. In May, Decart raised $300 million in a funding round led by Radical Ventures with participation from Nvidia, Adobe Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Benchmark, valuing the company at nearly $4 billion.

Founded by Dean Lighsdorf and Moshe Shalev, Decart's team would join Anthropic's Inference and Performance division if the deal proceeds. The acquisition talks coincide with Anthropic's preparations for an initial public offering and increasing investments by competitors in data center infrastructure. However, the discussions remain preliminary, and the deal may not materialize. Representatives from both companies declined to comment.
