Israeli Supreme Court Declines to Intervene in Likud Primary Dispute

The Israeli Supreme Court judges have refused to intervene in the dispute over the Likud party's primary elections in various districts. Addressing the petitioners, the court questioned the necessity of Supreme Court involvement, noting that they had expedited the hearing beyond usual procedures due to the conflict. Justice Groskopf emphasized that the Likud party's internal tribunal is the appropriate authority to make decisions on such matters and that its rulings should be respected. He stated that the tribunal had reached a decision and provided reasoning, and therefore, the Supreme Court saw no reason to interfere.
