IDF Chief Says Lebanon Is Main Focus, But Army Is Preparing for Other Fronts
During a visit to northern Israel, the IDF chief said Lebanon remains the military’s main center of gravity, while the army is also preparing for developments in other arenas. His remarks came as Israel continues to watch the northern border closely and assess broader regional risks.
He said that every additional operational achievement would further erode and break apart Hezbollah’s southern front and improve the security arrangements being discussed. Those arrangements, he noted, are expected to be set in negotiations mediated by the United States between Israel’s political leadership and the Lebanese government.
The statement underscored that the army’s current focus is Lebanon, but not exclusively. According to the chief, the IDF is readying itself for possible escalation or changes beyond that front as well.
