IDF Chief Visits South Lebanon, Signals Possible Deeper Military Operations

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir visited the southern Lebanon front on Wednesday to assess troop readiness and discuss ongoing military operations. During his visit, Zamir met with commanders from the Kfir Brigade and the 91st Division to review their preparedness for current and future missions in the region.

Zamir emphasized that the campaign across all fronts is not yet over and that the IDF is prepared for a wide range of scenarios. He stated, "We are ready for any change in the situation and prepared to act quickly and offensively to deepen the impact on the enemy." He highlighted significant achievements against Iranian forces and indicated that if necessary, the IDF would expand its operations deeper into additional areas.

The Chief of Staff also outlined the broader scope of IDF operations, which currently include activities in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, and the West Bank. He stressed the importance of maintaining long-term security for northern Israeli communities and noted that the IDF has neutralized the threat of raids. Zamir mentioned plans to increase the size of the military and the number of combat soldiers to meet expanding mission demands. He also expressed the goal that by the upcoming holiday season, all regular brigades will undergo rest and recuperation, with a reduction in reserve duty where possible.
