In related developments, Boaron has recently taken a firm stance loyal to Netanyahu by pushing for the resignation of Knesset members Dan Illouz and Yuli Edelstein, who are running with other parties in the upcoming elections. Boaron threatened to declare them defectors if they do not resign, which would block Illouz from running with Yisrael Beiteinu. Illouz submitted his resignation on Tuesday, effective Wednesday. Edelstein, running with Gilad Erdan's new party, may still run as a defector unless placed on an existing list.
