Beloved Jerusalem Teacher Riki Faibelzon Dies Suddenly at 32 from Severe Asthma Attack
A tragic loss struck the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood in Jerusalem as beloved teacher Rivka (Riki) Faibelzon passed away suddenly at the age of 32. She collapsed at home late Tuesday night due to a severe asthma attack. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts by firefighters and medical teams, she could not be revived.
Born in Jerusalem in July 1994, Faibelzon was the daughter of Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Faibelzon, head of the Petchei Olam Yeshiva and a respected Torah scholar. She was a dedicated and admired teacher at the Ashira School in Jerusalem, where she educated generations of students with devotion. Additionally, she served as a coordinator for a special program promoting Judaism and values in schools across the city.
In the past year, Faibelzon gained recognition for hosting popular podcasts focused on Judaism, education, and matchmaking, which resonated strongly with women and girls. She leaves behind her esteemed parents, siblings, many friends, and students who are mourning her untimely death. Her funeral is scheduled to take place today in Jerusalem. May her soul be bound in the bond of life.
