The story · English

Rabbi Shimon Aharon Goldman, a scion of the Zwohil Hasidic dynasty and son-in-law of the Kamarna Rebbe, passed away suddenly from a heart attack on Tuesday morning at the age of 56. He died in Beitar Illit, shortly after visiting his wife in the hospital, where she is reportedly ill.

Born in Bnei Brak in 1970, Rabbi Goldman was the son of Rabbi David Goldman, rabbi of the Zwohil Beit Midrash in Bnei Brak, and the grandson of Rabbi Mordechai Goldman, the Zwohil Rebbe. His mother was the daughter of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshel Auerbach. He studied at the Sanz Yeshiva in Netanya and later married the daughter of the Kamarna Rebbe of Jerusalem.

Rabbi Goldman was known for his devotion to his Hasidic heritage and frequently visited the graves of his ancestors. He was also related by marriage to several other prominent Hasidic leaders, including the Rebbes of Rachmastrivka, Boston, and Uzhorod, as well as Rabbi Gershon Edelstein and Rabbi Gestetner.

He is survived by two children whom he did not live to see married. His son, Rabbi Mordechai Goldman, leads the Kamarna Kollel on Arzei HaBira Street in Jerusalem and is married to the daughter of the Boston Rebbe. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
