Israel Warns US of Iranian Shoulder-Fired Missile Threat to Air Force One
An official American source told The Wall Street Journal that Israel provided intelligence to the Trump administration about an Iranian threat involving shoulder-fired missiles targeting aircraft, specifically against Air Force One during President Donald Trump's flight after the NATO summit in Ankara. The flight took place on July 8, and the intelligence indicated a credible risk of an assassination attempt on Trump or his plane. Several of the president's senior aides, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, remained on Air Force One during the flight. Earlier reports revealed that an unusual deception operation was conducted during the flight to conceal Trump's location due to fears of an Iranian attack attempt.
