Israeli Basketball Star Kayler Edwards Signs with Chinese Team Liaoning Flying Leopards

Kayler Edwards, the leading scorer in the Israeli basketball league over the past two seasons, is set to join the Liaoning Flying Leopards in China. Edwards, who averaged 19.5 points per game with Elitzur Netanya and 18.9 points with Hapoel Emek, had been linked to top Israeli teams during the summer but is now heading to the Far East. Prior to his success in Israel, the 27-year-old guard was signed by Dijon in France in 2024, where he averaged 8.9 points per game with a 34% field goal percentage. He performed better in the EuroCup, averaging 11.5 points on 56% shooting, along with 2.5 rebounds and 3 assists per game. During his year and a half in the Israeli Winner League, Edwards rarely scored below 10 points, with only two such games, compared to four in just eight games with Dijon. European clubs Villeurbanne and Monaco had also shown interest in him, but Edwards is now moving to a completely different basketball market in China.
