Lyles Tops EuroLeague’s Best Free Agents, With Israeli Clubs Eyeing the List
Eurohoops has published its ranking of the 10 best free agents in the EuroLeague as the European basketball season nears its end and clubs begin planning for next year. The list was compiled by writer Stefan Atschevsky and was published on Sunday night.
At No. 1 is Real Madrid forward Trey Lyles, one of Hapoel Tel Aviv’s main targets. The ranking also includes Timothy Luwawu-Cabarrot and Carsen Edwards, both major targets for Maccabi Tel Aviv. Luwawu-Cabarrot is expected to play for Villeurbanne, while Edwards is expected to join Zalgiris.
Other notable names on the list are Zach LeDay, who previously played in Israel for Gilboa/Galil and has been linked to Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Cory Joseph, who made his EuroLeague debut this season. Daniel Theis is listed as a Monaco player and is in talks with Villeurbanne.
Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv are among the clubs expected to be active in the market ahead of next season. Eurohoops noted that 19 of the EuroLeague’s 20 clubs have already secured their place for next season. If Monaco are eliminated from the competition, Besiktas is likely to take its place.
