Eurohoops ranks the top EuroLeague free agents, with Trey Lyles at No. 1

Eurohoops has ranked the 10 best free agents on the EuroLeague market ahead of next season, amid expectations of major roster movement. The list is led by Trey Lyles, who is likely not to stay with Real Madrid and has also been linked with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The outlet praised Lyles for fitting well into Real Madrid’s system, especially off the bench, while also noting his versatility and scoring ability. It said he can play center when needed and is now waiting for a new contract, though it remains unclear whether that will come from another club or from Real.

According to the report, a renewal appears unlikely because Lyles is asking for 5 million euros per season, a figure Real Madrid cannot afford. In his first season in Europe, he averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in the EuroLeague regular season.

Lyles also produced strong Final Four performances, scoring 17 points against Valencia in the semifinal and 24 points in the final against Olympiacos, which were not enough to secure the title. The ranking also placed Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot second, a player Maccabi Tel Aviv had reportedly pursued, followed by Shavon Shields, Zach LeDay, Daniel Theis, Carsen Edwards, Cory Joseph, Braxton Key, Kostas Papanikolaou and Tomas Satoransky.
