Trey Lyles has confirmed that he will leave Real Madrid when his current contract expires, a development that could matter for Hapoel Tel Aviv. The 30-year-old forward has been linked both to the Israeli club and to a possible return to the NBA.
Lyles said, "Madrid was great, but it is time. It was a great experience." He signed only a one-year deal with the Spanish club and joined a Real Madrid team that reached the EuroLeague championship final.
During his EuroLeague season, Lyles averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and he scored 24 points in the final against the Greek team. At this stage, reports say his first choice is to go back to the NBA after one year in Europe.
